I'm desperately looking for that "Metal Elbow" that connects underneath the tiller handle of my 1979 20 HP Merc. This "Metal Elbow" was taken off my motor when I took it into the shop, guess I now realize how precious that piece is!
I really hope I described it properly, can someone tell me where I can find one? It attaches to the steering cables, with a hole in the front and the two screw holes in the back... it's about 6 inches long I think.
Please get in touch if anyone knows where I can purchase one online, of if anyone knows the part number or what it's really called...
This part? It's called a 'Plate assembly, co-pilot', part # -73014A1, it's NLA from Merc. You may find it a salvage yard.

Thanks for the reply... I think I may have found it tho, Part Number: 34746A 2
I just can't find one anywhere and no one can guarantee if this is the right part for my 1979 Mercury 20HP.
Hope someone out there knows or can point me in the right direction!
Thanks again, Geoff.
According to my parts listing, that will fit a Merc 20hp...
That's the part that connects a forward steering system to the engine.
