I've got a Merc 260 equivalent I've been putting together the last couple months. I cant seem to figure out where to mount this fuel filter/solenoid bracket. Might be some hardware missing I dunno. Any ideas?

Might help to know a year and model and serial number of the original engine. The carbed 5.7's are all 260 hp for years and years.

Yeah sorry I didn't post the year because I'm not sure about it. Boat is about an '86 but I doubt the engine is original (bought used). Cast #3970010, carbed, 3" Osco center risers.Might help to know a year and model and serial number of the original engine. The carbed 5.7's are all 260 hp for years and years.
lime4x4 I was checking out the spots you mentioned earlier but it just didn't seem to fit with the hardware I have. The bolt holes on my manifold and head don't line up flush.. the head sticks out about 1/2" further and the manifold hole is recessed a bit in the cast. I'll keep messing with trying to get it to fit there but a pic would be great. Also, let me know if your bolts line up flush.just got done putting my 260 merc back together.Mine was attached to the left frt cylinder head and exhaust manifold when looking at the front of the engine.I can post a pic tomorrow if u want
Thanks
Ok I'm seeing it now. All I need is some type of spacer on the manifold to square up the bracket with the head.
Thanks for the help, gentlemen. It's much appreciated.
Mount it on the side of the bilge?
