When did mercruiser stop using the reverse lock valve?

I was wondering when Mercruiser quit using the reverse lock valve for the tilt and trim. I'm switching my set up from the Mercruiser 260 1981 to a 1984 set up all the way too switching out the old prestolite pump to the oildyne/eaton pump and from what I can look up in manuals with the eaton pump you don't need the reverse lock valve.

Ayuh,.... 1982 or 1983....

When you switch pumps, change All the lines,+ throw away the reverse lock...
