Reverse Lock

I have a 1976 Regal 17'6" w/mercruiser 120 that someone has taken the 2 wires on the reverse lock off(1 black and 1 looks like Purp with white stripe ) . I know the black is ground but where does the other wire go on the trim pump ? TIA

I think it goes to a limiter switch that turns on a warning light on your dash when the reverse pawls or disengaged.

what drive? a model 1?my model 1 don't have any wires going to the reverse lock. it's hydrolic. the trim limit switch has two wires goin to it though. don't know the colors though w/o lookin....do know that my limit switch for my drive is disconneted. 2 wires, just plain ol cut off and go no where. does yer three button trim switch respond proper, mine don't. it works but aint proper.....i have up and down. the ramification is no limit to trim....

Not real sure of the serial # 2831827 hard to make it out some one has painted over part of the label but I think thatÂ’s right.
