    Default Reassembly of shift/throttle cables to motor

    When I pulled my motor out of my boat in October, I recorded every move so that I know how to reinstall everything. Well when trying to view the video that deals with the shift and throttle cable, the video said, "Corrupted file, file format not supported." I checked every video after this, and all of them say the same thing now. I'm not sure what happened, but I'm going to take it to my IT guy at work on Monday and see can he help me out. In the mean time, would anybody have any insight or a manual on how to reassemble the shift and throttle cables to the engine on a 1985 mercruiser 140?
    Why is it that I can always find time to work on projects I love, but can never find time to take care of priorities?

    All explained nice in these manuals...

    Engine -> https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B1T...elg5blYybmNRdw
    Drive -> https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B1T...YTkwcUh5RElUQQ

    Section 2 of each manual is for installation and removal. Both deal with the throttle and shift cable installation...

    Ok, So I believe I have the cables attached correctly. However, there is another issue. When I move the shifter, only the throttle cable is moving, and it's not a far range that it's moving. The outdrive is still off. I plan to put it back on once I can get this figured out. I'm trying to assemble the control box and cables to the motor because before I put the deck in, I want to check for water leaks and make sure the mechanical is working flawlessly. I plan on taking the boat to a smaller lake and running it out there before I install a deck. Attachment 146272 On this picture, it's the top cable that's not moving, the bottom one moves (this is the one that goes out to the outdrive.) I manually pulled and pushed on this cable as hard as I can and it didn't budge. Also, When putting the control back together, Is there a mark or other indicator to set the ring in this photo http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/...IMG_1041-1.jpg to where it's supposed to go?
