Quicksilver Steering 1969 120 mercruiser I/O

Okay so here is the situation, I have a 1969 tri hull equiped with a mercruiser 120 hp I/O sterndrive. The steering helm is a Quicksilver Ride Guide. The problem that I am having is that the cable system for my steering is bound, not anything new, but I am having a ton of problems finding a replacement cable for my helm. Am I going to need to just replace the helm and steering wheel to a newer style, or does anyone have any information about this Quicksilver Ride Guide Steering Helm or know where to find the cable I am looking for? Any help would be greatly appreciated
