    Angry Pertronix upgrade

I've got a 1983 v-20 steplift with a 470 mercruiser I/O. I want to upgrade to a perotronix system but I can't find the balast wire or resistor. Opened up the whole harness and see nothing. I can't get enough voltage to the coil by their directions so I must be missing something, any help would be great.

    Thanks BC

According to my diagram, the resistor wire runs between the electric choke and the ignition coil.
