Mercruiser 470 water pump reseal kit ??

Looks like Im going to have to do the pump reseal thing on my newly purchased 1986 Wellcraft with the mercruiser 170 motor and have a few questions like is there some brands of reseal kits that are better than others ? Theres one on Ebay for $ 50 bucks or so but no name and Ive read about doing the speedy sleeve thing on the cam and is that really needed in every case ?

Are you referring to the engine pump or the raw water pump in the outdrive?

The closed loop water pump seal. There is antifreeze leaking out the weep hole of the cover on the starboard side front of motor. No water making it to the oil yet but Ive read once one seal goes the second is soon to follow and then water in oil. From the stains it seems the last owner had continued to run with the one seal bad for a good while.

Ebay is were I bought my circulating pump kit. Should come with 3 lip seals and some gaskets. It was actually fairly easy to replace and we didn't need to remove the engine and oil pan as some resources suggest. My father-in-law and I replaced the seals in a couple of hours, however, he had to manufacture sleeves over the shaft due to corrosion.
