Default Merc 3.0L w/ alpha 1 - Drive Lube, how often do you refill?

I've noticed that my drive lube is needing to be refilled quite often, I topped it up to the FULL mark and 2 trips later, I'm already half way between FULL and ADD.

Any suggestion on what could be going on to cause it to eat up this much drive lube?

    Thanks.

the proper fill interval is never.

You are leaking. Monofilament fishing line is a common cause. Remove prop and inspect for line.

Your drive will have to be removed, pressure tested and resealed where necessary.

And if its a 2010 like your signature says, it should be done under warranty.

Thanks all, I might pull the prop and check for the monifilament, if that's the case i don't think that falls under warranty. I wonder if the line can cause a lost in top speed? I noticed a lost of 2mph since.

If no fishing line, then I'm leaking somewhere else and I'll have it checked at the dealer.

Warranty or not is something you'll work out with the dealer. Regardless, get this checked even if it's on your dime.
