Default Last trip of the season ended short

Headed out around 6 this morning. When I first started the engine, seemed like it took a while for the voltage to come up.......alternator didn't charge right away. Well it charged for the ride out, then I noticed it quit charging once I got to where I was going. Threw a line in after I set-up anchor and gave a quick test with my DVM and I was only showing 11.9V at the battery w/ the engine running at 2K RPM. Decided to pull anchor and head in on battery power only........too cold to get stuck out there.

Here's to a short winter.......now comes the joys of winterization! I hate it more and more each year.........

At least you made it back without a tow. I recently moved from Long Island ... guess you were toggin? Now I can boat year round but never seem to have the time. I do have the time now but my boat is broke. Sometimes you cant catch a break. Are you gonna fix it before you lay it up? Might be better to get the parts now.

Yeah Tony it was a bit brisk today on the Island, 55 or so at most and it was 72 just 2 days ago...
I did my winterize today, I can't stand doing it if it's below 45 or so and I'll tell you an outboard is looking better and better, crawling round the bilge at my age is getting old...

But I have to be thankful---

    No water in the oil
    No water in the cylinders
    Good compression test results
No water in the gear oil
    No water in the gas

time to take a hot shower and have a beer......
