How do I hook antifreeze up to my hose?

I have a closed system on my engine (volvo AQ125).So Im not worried about the block. But I still have water in my heat exchanger and the raw water inlet and outlet tubes.So , how do I get antifreeze pumped in there?From what I understand it gets hooked up to my hose. But how??

take a 5 gallon bucket, install a half or 5/8 inch hose barb connection(depending on the size of hose you have available) in the side of the bucket near the bottom, connect a short section of hose to the barb and some muffs on the other end. Fill bucket with solution of antifreeze and start engine. when you see antifreeze coming out of the exhaust, shut it down. thats the cheap way. want to spend a few more bucks you can buy a flush kit at one of the many retail marine stores...good luck....... oh yea, make sure the bucket is above the outdrive when you do this..

Just connect a short piece of hose to your muffs then put the free end in a bucket of antifreeze and check your impeller at the same time. John

My solution to hooking up antifreeze to the engine. small gas can, marine tex on threads and a brass fitting. Works great! and less than 10.00 not counting the marine tex.Tallman
