Force 120 hp L Drive

I am looking at a 1991 Bayliner Capri 2072 , the only thing holding me back from purchasing this boat is the motor.I have been warned off both the fact that it is a force motor plus the L Drive system.I also feel this motor could be under powered for a boat this size (20 foot). I would appreciate any comments.

i had a 90 maxum with 125 force l-drive.never had a problem with the drive ,but the motor redone twice,frist of all do a compression check frist all should be about 145 to 150 if not walk away.if it is and you buy it ,then run nothing but the best 2stroke oil and never run wot.or atleast over 4300 rpm.my 21 ft maxum would run out at about 50mph. and really jump out of the hole . i now own a 87 sea ray and love it. good luck
