    Default 3.0 Mercruiser valve identification

Finally getting around to adjusting my valve train on an 86 mercruiser 3.0 4 cyl. I've got the correct procedures from a previous post and hate to ask a stupid question but,... I guess I'm confused about whic valves are intake and which are exhaust. If I'm the front of the motor looking at #1 cyl, is it intake, exhaust, intake, exhaust, intake, exhaust intake, exhaust? Thanks!!
