1978 met cruiser 140 will not trim down all the way

I have a 1978 mercruiser 140hp stern drive. I am having problems with the trim going all the way down. It goes up with no problems and down fine until the last 2" and it stops. I have tried bleeding the cylinders and it still does the same thing. The problem started after I replaced a leaky down hose. It will trim all the way down if I push on the drive while pressing the down button.

Usually means one or both trim ram end caps are corroded...
