Two black wires after engine swap

I have two black wires (male and female) from my factory wire harness. Swapped the motor to the same 4.3 since my old block was cracked. I’m not sure where these are from or where they go. I do however remember unplugging them from my older engine but this one doesn’t appear to have any place...

Cracked block - now looking to replace motor

So I had a forum post here last year about chasing down a milky-oil situation. Ended up replacing head gaskets, magnafluxing, etc and in the end... it wouldn’t hold pressure so I had to assume a crack deep in the valley or cylinder wall. Anyways, I have a lead on a truck motor. I know the...

1999 Johnson 15 overheat - now won’t rev full and loss of power

I’ll try to keep it short for you guys, trying to figure out what happened. Motor somehow over heated when my buddy took it to the local store on the water and we towed it back, let it cool, and then fired it up. I verified water was coming out of the tube by the back so I knew there was water...

Mercruiser 4.3lx - Water in oil pan and milky oil

Hey guys, have done lots of reading about people with similar issues and I've read the traditional cracked block, leaking exhaust manifolds/risers, blown head gasket, etc... Well before I made this post I tried to narrow it down as much as possible for you guys and did lots of digging into it...

Alpha Gen 2. More "clunk" then "click" when spinning prop by hand??? Hi Guys, Long story short, two years ago I shredded the gears in my upper unit. This past week I managed to finally get around to buying a new one ("new" as in good used) and bolted the new top half to my old lower which we...

1998 Johnson 15HP. Idle fine and no high rpms, now wont idle and have high rpms??

Hey guys, I was recently having issues with my 15hp Johnson. It would sputter at high rpm above 3/4 throttle, and idle perfectly. So I decided to do what lots of people suggested, which was clean the carb. I took the carb apart and used brake cleaner, only on metallic components, and...
