I have a RPM question. I have a 16' Thundercraft Tri-Hull that according to the MPH gauge does about 25mph with the 50hp Mercury WOT. The RPM gauge @ WOT reads 3000-3500 RPM. My shop manual says the RPM operating range is 4800-5500 RPM? When at idle I get 800-1000 RPM reading in neutral. Whats...

It is a mid 70s motor with a MerControl. I can fire it up and then turn it off immediately with the key most of the time. If I run the engine for a minute or longer the key will not turn the motor off? I have to choke the carbs to kill the engine. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Does anyone know if the Throttle/Shift cable and the Cold Start/Fast idle lever cable the same type on a MerControl? I need to replace both cables but havent been able to find any info about the Fast Idle lever cable.

Can anyone give me a good estimate on the amount of 3M 5200 I will need to put in a 2" x 11ft stringer w/ fillets? An educated guess would be good. Just need a general idea because the stuff is like 12 or 13 bucks at Lowes for a tube.
When I go to put the new wood stringers and bulkheads in do I just epoxy them in and then epoxy and mat over or should I glue them in with an adhesive and THEN epoxy and mat over them?
