ok so i think ive gotta prealpha drive. 78 305. so i ordered a transom remount kit. it was like 108 bux so im hopin its right. somebody on here told me the newer style kits would work for gaskets and bellows and such. so it says on the box 83 to 90 units. its a sierra kit #18-2601-1.should i...

i have a 1978 mercruiser 228. unsure of model of outdrive? can anyone tell by just that information. well anyways i need a transom reseal kit and cant find ones for years under 1982, and im unsure if i have the exhaust tube and the special bellow with that bead of rubber. thanks for the help!
