It had that much salt build up around the edges, it took a bit of careful scraping to get it out. I could not believe it. Thanks all for the advice thus far. Will let you...

    Hi All. Took my old boat out for a spin today. Travelled a couple of km's up the river, and turned to come back and the engine started to lose power and eventually stopped.
