friends boat lost gear while at cruising speed down the lake. Like it shifted into neutral. Pushing the shift cable in off the shift plate on the motor is almost impossible but it pulls back out..
Any chance this is just a cable or are we possibly looking at a worst case scenario clutch issues?
Working on my neighbors bass boat. When in N it will rev up fine. Once in gear it will have no power and die.
Tested using external tank and new fuel hose/primer. Running Pre-mix.
Compression is 120 on all 4.
Fuel pressure is around 6 PSI at idle and goes to 10 PSI when rev.

Does anyone know if you can delete this mercruiser "cool fuel" system? I dont understand why you cannot just run an electric pump from the tank to the motor with an inline filter..
gp760 was no longer charging the batt. However with a fully charged battery it would start right up.

Just got my boat back from the shop for a bad starter mount and now its hard to steer. Only thing is it was there sitting for 8 months. Of course the motor had to be pulled to make this repair.
Steering was fine before this.. Anything I should check for? boat only has like 140 hours on it.
