I recently purchased a 2008 Tracker Grizzly jon boat (no motor - trying to save a few thousand bucks). I already own an older jon boat with a 60 hp Johnson outboard on it. The problem is the Tracker boat is wired for a Mercury motor and the wiring harness for the motor doesn't "mate" with the...

Last night I was at the boat store and overheard one of the salesmen talking with a customer. He told the guy that you should throw the engine into gear instead of easing it into gear. Comments?
I have a '81 60 hp Johnson and one of the hydraulic rams (right side) is leaking. The T/T still works but it takes a few seconds to build up enough pressure to move the ram. Any suggestions on how to repair/replace this ram? Also what type of business does these types of repairs? Also, where...
Anyone have any info concerning a paint that will seal the bottom of my leaky aluminum jon boat? My boat has an inner hull so re-seating the rivits is out of the question. I have heard that the stuff is out there but I can't seem to get anyone to provide me with a name. I was thinking about...
I'm not sure what the piece is called but it's where you would mount one of those plastic wings which are designed to help with getting your boat on plane. The flange (for lack of correct terminology) on the right side of my johnson OB is bent upward at a pretty good angle. How do I flatten it...
A friend has a aluminum jon boat that leaks pretty good. He's planning on putting spray-on bedliner on the bottom. What's the pro's and con's on doing something like this? The boat is a duck hunting rig. Thanks.
How much play should be in the distance between forward and reverse? I have a '83 Johnson 60 hp. Mine travels probably 6 or 7 inches from forward until it slips into reverse. Is this normal? If not how do I tighten it up? Thanks.
My friend is planning on getting the bottom of his aluminum duck hunting boat coated with spray-on bedliner. He wants to know if it would be ok to turn the boat over with the motor still attached. He is a newcomer to the boating world and really doesn't want to take a chance messing anything up...
While underway, it seems that the battery (I only use 1) won't power the bilge pump. But when I turn the motor off then the bilge pump will work. Do I need another battery or should the single battery be able to power both?
