    1978 OMC 800 trim question

    Is there any adjustment or limiter for the trim(not tilt) on the 800? mine will trim all the way up (bow) but will only trim down about 1/3 of the way. Battery has a full charge and there is nothing restricting the movement. Thanks

    78 OMC 800 shift cable

    Found water in my lower today. After a pressure test I found the shift cable to be culprit. It has a small split in the cable on the boot above the shift housing. Anyone ever tried to seal one of these, I just can't justify 4-5 hundred for a new one.

    RPM issue with OMC 225

    I have a 1978 Galaxy 1000 BR with a 225 HP Chevy 305 engine. The prop 14 1/2 x 19. The engine is very flat and sluggish and I can't get over 3300 rpm's WOT and only 34 MPH by GPS. It also has a 4bbl carb. If the boat is out of gear it will tach up to about 6400. Any idea's?
