I noticed in a previous thread...That is why it is important to assure they are in direct (continuity ) connection to the metal to which they are attached.This can be tested using a simple ohm meter reading between the zinc plate and case of motor.

I have a 1981 SeaRay - Merc 260.
I have noticed the outdrive & housing have started getting white corrosion on the edges and corners. My sacraficial anodes look like new and are not deteriorating. Do I have a grounding problem? The boat operates fine.
Any recomendations appreciated.

My 1981 Merc 260 (carburated) has a very difficult time starting when cold. Takes alot of cranking. Once it starts I have to run it a minute at at 1000 RPM to keep it running then it runs fine.
Suggestions?
I have a 1981 Sea Ray Amberjack. There are 2 storage areas in the floor that get water in them and the drains (90 degrees) do not drain. Need help with the best ways to clear these out. Probably clogged with leaves. Had to vacuum out the water this fall.

Can anyone provide me the RPM Range to WOT for a 1981 SeaRay 350 with a merc 260. I max out at 4200-4300 RPM. Shoud I be getting more RPMs from this motor and lower unit?
My 1981 Merc 260 is stalling when I shift from Nuetral to Reverse, it shifts and runs fine from Neutral to Forward. It has gotten progressiveley worse through the end of the season. Any suggestions?
I have a 1981 SeaRay with mercruiser 260 Sterndrive. The tilt trim will bring the drive up but it won't come down from the full up position. If I step on the drive while someone holds the DOWN trim button it will move down. Any suggestions??

I just reinstalled the winsheild on my boat. 1981 Sea Ray 24'. There are holes in the windsheild frame where the screws secure to the hull. I need to plug them and be able to remove them for service. Any recomendations?
