wondering if someone could help me with my newly found problem. i've got a '82 or '83 50hp mercury. first time out this year, and it wouldn't shift into gear then i rev'ed it up and it shifted into forward and seemed to get stuck there now forward goes forward and reverse goes forward any help...
i have stumbled apon a 75 hp chrysler and was wondering were i could find the serial #?
then find what year it is.
then wondering if it is worth fixin. i guess its over heating and suppose to run good. but how well are chrysler engines? what kind of profomance will i get?
my 50 h.p. only pumps water when it gets really hot and pumps hot water. i dont think this is normal.
1 if there is a rubber grommet between the pump and the copper tube pleez tell me.
or any thoughts. lmk i did change the water pump and wondering if i missed something.
i have a 1982 mercury 50 h.p. all i feel out the pee hol is warm air. just curious if i may just not have it in the barrel deep enough.or what else could be the problem.
i was wondering what year my mercury outboard is 50 h.p. serial 6149979.
and were i might be able to find exaust/water jet gasket and water pump. thanks in advance.
