    Augusta to Savannah river trip

Hi guys, Been thinking bout putting in and going down the Savannah river. Its a max 200 mile trip, may be an overnighter. 1958 Johnson 7.5hp

Hi guys. Hope everyone is well. I am wondering if the old babbit bearing rods are upgradable. Specifically on a Johnson AD-12 Could a machine shop "install" a better bearing? - or even a new bronze bearing surface? I don't recall anybody trying to do this on an AD (7.5). I know about the QD...

    1958 Johnson 7.5 piston direction

Hi guys, My latest confusion is shown with the attached pic. One piston is easy to see and one is not. One piston is oriented correctly and one is not. None of the screws / bolts are tight and now is the time to get this straightened out. Thanks in advance for your help. -Bennett

    Gelcoat question

What is the difference in (non mold use) Gelcoat and polyester resin? Is gelcoat just a pigmented version? The reason I ask is that i am contemplating popping off the cap from my runabout and flipping the hull to "give attention" to the wear marks on the keel. I was thinking that if I use the...

    Transom replacement - - Slight " barrelback"

Yeah, I know - a tired old subject line - But this question has a slightly different slant. (pun intended) Starcraft Marlin. 1965. - The transom has a SLIGHT "barrelback" design It looks like the original transom was put in BEFORE the three "knee braces" were riveted in. (yes, it has three...

Simple to some, hard for me. Gearcase drain screw and washer

I am supposing that all these use the same threaded screw and washer - to drain the gearcase. Where O where is a source for these buggers? And why are the part numbers different (probably just me)? Are OEM's that superior (they are - or they arn't) ? 1956 Evinrude Big twin 1958 Johnson Ad 12...
