    Steering play

    Hello, I have way to much steering play and can't seem to find the two gimbal ring bolts that are torqued to 50-55 Lbs. I wanted to check them as per the manual.     Mercruiser 898, GM 305 TACH Problems

    So I'm out on the water and I notice that my tach is not reading correctly, it's kind of jumping around. By the time I got back to the dock the motor died and there is now no spark at the coil wire. Could the TACH be the problem as in grounding out the coil? Thanks.

    Wires at the outdrive

    Hello found some cut wires at the outdrive are these needed? and what are they for? Boat seems to work fine without them being connected. Merc 898, not sure of the outdrive. Thanks.
