    placement of motor

    Does the motor on a johnboat have to be centered on the transom? I want to build up the tramsom so it will take a long shaft 15hp motor but I don't want to give up my short shaft incase I need to use it for a spare if the 15 hp gives out. I would not use both motors at the same time, just one...

    1967 Johnson 9 1/2

    I need some advice on my 9 1/2 . Johnson .It seems that after fishing all day and we go back to the dock which is quite a bit aways from the fishing hole.     need info about jon boat transom

    I have a 14ft jon boat, that has a 20inch transom. Problem the 89 Evenrude 15hp has a long shaft,dropping it to low in the water.(so I'm told, causeing steering , problems) I think I need to raise the motor up at least 4 inches so that the plate is within 2 inches, of the bottom of the keel...
