    '76 55 hp evinrude will not go in gear unless tilted

    Launched boat this weekend idled to dock to wait for friend to park truck. backed away from dock at idle and put in forward and nothing. Tried reverse and nothing. I have no gears, loaded back up and came home took cable loose and tried shifting and it went in gear. lowered motor and no gears...
