72 Johnson 65HP top coil problem. Or is it?

Hard cold starting. Noticed the insulation/cover on the windings on the #1 coil is loose in the frame. Any way to tighten this? Engine seems to pop off if I pull the #1 plug wire, otherwise it's hard starting when cold. Warm/hot, sitting in the sun for a while with the cover off, it starts right...

Cycles in and out of forward on a 72 Johnson 65 HP

72 Johnson 65HP prop shaft free play

We haven't taken it apart yet, but we have about a half turn of play on the prop shaft. I assume this is not normal? We did hit something in the water last fall with the motor and I am fearing the worst. It's electric shift.

70 Johnson 65HP floods when engine is tilted

We usually hook up a hose and test run the engine before we take them to the lake. However, by the time we get there, it's flooded. We lower the engine and wait a few minutes, and it will start up, most of the time. Sometime we have to pull the plugs and crank it over to get rid of the excess...

Long shaft question for Fastwin 18

Went to a swap meet today and was looking at a long shaft lower unit for a 78 25HP Evinrude. We have a 72 I believe, 18HP Fastwin with the short shaft. It's used as a kicker. We'd like to have a long shaft to hopefully get more bite in the water. Will this long shaft unit bolt on to the older...
