    Pemaqid skiff powering

I just picked up a nice 5 year old Pemaquid skiff from original owner. 13.8’ length, 5.3’ beam, 20” transom, flat bottom (no skeg) and is solid glass and feels it. I’ll be using for non commercial lobstering and island hopping fairly close to shore. The original owner was an older gentleman...

    Shell Lake Tri-14

And one more tribute to Woodonglass who's knowledge inspired me to tinker with colors. For anyone else interested, I used 2 quarts of the Ford Blue, and about 1.5 pints Gloss White (I wanted extra for a second coat), and hardener, all of it is the Majic brand from Tractor Supply Co, and I got...

    Shell Lake Tri-14

Thanks to Woodonglass' great post on using tractor paint from TSC, I was able to give a decent paint job to my Shell Lake at a stupid low cost - still kind of boggles my mind in the price difference from Pettit topside at $45/Qt locally.

Recreational lobstering with MFG cartop fisherman

I have been using my 12' MFG to do some lobstering here in Maine, it has been a very stable if cramped boat to play around in the small bay where I have a cottage. The boat has worked well and its in pretty good shape for the age, but I recently got a good deal on a Shell Lake Tri-14 so will...

    1989 Evinrude 15hp quick questions

Two quick questions. I have an '89 Evinrude 15hp that has a bad kill switch in the tiller. I have no interest (or money) to get an OEM kill switch for the tiller, so I want to just plug in a regular outboard kill switch I have that works where there's already a plugged hole in the lower engine...

    Shell Lake Tri-14

I just purchased a Shell Lake Tri-14 in very good shape for $75. It has three small FG patches on the keel where one would expect it, and the previous owner who'd had it for over 30 years (and was getting to old huck it around) beefed up the transom for a larger outboard. I plan on running just...
