    how to replace control cables in 1977 85 hp control box

    I'm swapping engines and controls on a couple of 1970's boats, and need to swap the control cables. Are there allen screws in the control box that need to be loosened to allow me to remove the cables? Do I loosen one or both, or is there another method? Thanks.

    Im rebuilding a 1977 85 hp v4 evinrude, and I'm about ready to mate the crankcases. The manual calls out 1000 sealer, but what is that sealer, and what would be a good substitute that i could get at a automotive store.

    Main Bearing Dowel pin alignment on 1977 85 hp V4

    I'm putting the crankshaft back in my engine, but wasn't sure if the dowel pin was aligned with the main bearing. I know the bearing is not supposed to rotate, but is the dowel pin a tight fit, or is there a little play? Any ideas would be appreciated.
