I recently replaced a cracked plastic pinion gear (318447) on my 1968 6hp starter, and decided to also replace the stripped one on my 1978 6. The starter gear pops up but fails to mesh properly with the flywheel. I can't see any way to adjust the pinion gear to move it closer to the...
This seems to elude me...the plastic pinion gear on the pop-up starter is cracked. What is the part #, and does Sierra make a less costly one than OEM? Thanks! :)
Recently found an old 9.9, compression good but no spark on one cylinder. Switched coils, lack of spark followed. Unhooked kill switch, still no fire. Is it safe to assume the coil is toast? Thanks!
Can someone provide me with the original part number for an LCD multimeter speedo for a 1991 Yammy 90? Like to find a decent used one to go with my tach. Thanks!
My brother recently aquired a Merc 350, serial #2571393. Believe it to be a 1969 model. The motor has 120/125# compression, good spark, cleaned carb. It still seems to push as though it is on one cylinder, barely moving a very light 14' Fiberform runabout. Has an intermittant miss as though...
I have a prop I'm having trouble identifying. It is about 7 1/2" diameter, has a 1/2" bore with a 1 1/4" shear pin slot. Any clues as to its application? The only markings are on the outer hub: AMC 421. I'm guessing it is a JohnnyRude prop just from the design. Could be waaay off. Thanks for any...
If someone has access to Mercury part #'s, please help me out. I have a stainless Quicksilver prop, part number 48-16986-16P and would like to know the applications. If you can tell me the years/models it fits, that would be great. Thanks! :)
Garage sale special Suzuki 2 horse, serial #908416. Year unknown. Has no spark, but I used a multimeter on the plug lead and get a couple volts (and a lotta amps) when I crank it. Bad coil? Thanks for any ideas.
I have a heat exchanger from a fresh water cooling system that I'd like to know the application to. It is made by San Juan Engineering. It is 4" in diameter, 27" tall, and has removable rubber caps on each end. It has oil cooler fittings on the base. I tried looking for a San Juan website, but...
You can't judge an impeller by looks alone. If it's the original one  you must replace it. The vanes take a set and lose efficiency. They should be replaced every 2 years, or more often if you do a lot of boating.
I have a long-running joke with my older brother about Spam. On a trip through Canada years back I saw a canned "meat product" that was called Spork. Wish I'd picked up a can, but I didn't. He has a birthday coming up, and I'd like nothing more than to present him with his very own tin of Spork...
I have a tachometer that has 4,6,8 cylinder settings as well as 12 pole outboard. I have a Yamaha with a 6 pole output. Can I modify the input signal to read correctly with this gauge? Thanks!
