I don't disagree. I just don't want to tear into the cam seal project without an evidence of weeping and two pieces of bizarre information: 1) It passed a pressure test, 2) it drains while not under pressure into the oil, and at times rapidly. I'll let you know what I find, and I wasn't...
I started tearing apart the elbow and manifold... :(. I'm a Chemical Engineer and my thoughts were if it were freely gravity draining into the pan somewhere at atmospheric pressure that pressurizing it would only make it go more so, and it didn't.
I agree. I don't know if it was totally empty, but the coolant drained signficantly, and when I pulled the drain plug into the bilge, the first 4-6 seconds was Mountain Dew, followed by chocolate milk shake.
You think that inner seal being bad would have the coolant just straight drain into the oil pan from the coolant side as it's being filled? Thanks for the tip - any ideas on how to clean it?
I would agree but I can literally almost say water go from The Fill into the oil pan. I just did what my mechanic said and pull the elbow off first to see if the seals went bad cause and coolant to go into the exhaust and back into the engine they look pretty good
I took a toothpick and make...
Hello all... I have an odd situation.
After a great two weeks in the Adirondacks, I came home and after not getting my boat to start at the ramp on a night I was short on time with my kid, I brought it home. I found my coolant was gone out of the reservoir (and also the reserve tank) and found...
I have an unusual situation where when I turn on the "panel" switch which should turn on the panel lights, or the two way anchor/navigation switch to navigation (which should have no effect on the panel lights) and a number of the gauges go haywire, including the fuel gauge goes off scale...

I have a small leak of warm exhaust water running down the interior stern of my boat, only when underway, and not when on muffs in the driveway...

Late last year, I replaced my failed outdrive with an SEI, which called the snow gods to an early winter here in upstate NY. The old hydraulic rams had external tubes...
I put a new SEI 106 on my pre-alpha 470 bellhousing and found the outside tube on the rams interfered with the anti-cavitation plate. The rams may have pre-dated the boat vintage - but the tubing loop at the forward port on both rams kept the spacing too wide at the front.
So... I happen to...
