    1988 Johnson 150GT Bogs down badly after 15 minutes

    I got this boat this fall and when we took it out it severely bogged down after 15 minutes or so. I was wondering if it is possible the charging system might not be working and the battery be discharging and there is not proper voltage for a spark? Can that cause this to happen?

    Is it possible to convert the 1988 Johnson J150STLCCA VRO fuel pump system to a non-VRO system? I got the boat this fall and the previous owner(s) took out the oil tank portion of the system.

    The manual calls for gapping the Champion QL77JC4 plugs to .040", but I have seen recent specs calling for .030". What is correct?

    I just bought a boat with a 1988 Johnson 150 GT. Runs great for about 5 minutes then it cuts back and mises badly. Pull back on the throttle and it idles fine. Give it throttle and it will not go and sounds bad. Leave it with throttle and it will surge a little after a few minutes. back...
