I need to take apart my throttle control mechanics (wheels, cables, shafts) because there is too much resistance in the shaft that the control cables wrap around, to the point where turning the grip will not rotate the shaft. ..wondering if there are any tips out there on dis-assembly and lube...
I'm trying to reassemble the lower unit on my Mercury 9.8 hp. 1979 era. I am able to align the shafts and easily get the nuts on, but the last 1/4" is extremely stubborn. It's as if one of the shafts is too long or something. I picked this up used and did not do the dis-assembly. Any ideas...
