    1987 Mercruiser 3.0 Won't Idle

    I got my engine running but it will only start and run at full to half throttle. As soon as you pull back the throttle it dies. I just replaced ignition coil and contact points. Any suggestions?

    1987 SeaSwirl Tempo Mercruiser 3.0 No SPARK and had water in oil

    I also am getting no spark off the coil. I have a 1987 SeaSwirl with a Mercruiser 3.0. I also am getting no spark off the coil. Did you do the complete tune up on the distributer to get it to run?
