    no water being pump on 8 HP

    After a complete total rebuild of the water pump, still no water being pumped out of pee hole. Could it be I don't have enough water in barrel? Water is up just over the fin.

    Prop shaft oil seal

    Yamaha 8 hp. parts manual calls for 2 prop shaft oil seals, back to back. Pulled prop,found only one oil seal. Found two oil seals, back to back, on the drive shaft. Possible mistake in the manual,am I not looking in the correct place?

    lower unit seals

    Any tricks on changing seals on a 8hp Yamaha? Found water in lower unit lube. Motor has been out of use for quite some time.Found an O ring on the prop shaft and oil seal on drive shaft by the water pump. Are there any more seals? This is from a Clymer Repair Manual which I find very vague.

    water in lower unit

    1988,Yamaha 8hp. changed oil in lower unit. Small amout of water. Is this normal? Is there a seal around the shaft where it enters the lower unit by the impeller box? The seals on the fill and empty screws are new. Any ideas ???

    8hp Yamaha,real low hours,seems to be in mint condition,in storage for 6yrs.Starts up,runs,installed new water impeller.Weak water flow out of outlet and when I went to change lower unit oil,water in oil.Checked impeller to see if installed correctly and it seems ok. Any ideas? Also noticed...
