interesting, if stringers are covered in enough fiberglass, the glass does most of the work anyhow. They may have just used that principal and and designed the glass on the flotation to be stress skin.....kind of like building a unibody car vs one on a frame.
I used to have a 1989 185 searay, fun boat. I think you have a lot of work ahead of you on the hull, looks a bit rough, but you never know. Looking forward to seeing your progress. The hardest thing about boat restoring is the grinding and demo....once you get past that everything else is fun!
I am starting to ease back into project Fuggly. Just ordered a few square headed bolts to plug up the holes in the intake....I got some hex headed set screws that I was going to locktite into place....but in the back of my head "if the gas eats the locktite....and they are loose they could...
Looks like you are moving along nicely! That is a lot of boat!
I am hung up on a "replace the kitchen faucet" project that turned into replace the sink, garbage disposal etc......and of course I wanted to upgrade to a deeper sink.....now I am in cabinet modification to fit the sink mode lol...
Hi GA, I did a little homework on Fuggly today, before I moved her back to the hanger. I checked the continuity on the temp sending line just to make sure. I check all of the wiring before I put it in, and as expected it was fine. I also tried wedging my head under the dash to see if I could...

Get rubber washers for the 6 push rod cover bolts. They apparently leak oil if you don't have...
Greetings all, it has been a while since I have been on! So here is the latest on Fuggly.
I was busy on other things till early summer. I I pre-lubed the new engine, checked TDC, set the timing as close as I could eyeball, put her on the muffs...........nothing, turned over great......but...
I like the seats, but I always try to keep things "period" so to speak. I think it adds a lot of interest, and they look comfy! lol. I built the one's in Miss Morgan based on some grainy photos, I also thought about ordering some but I am glad I didn't. Looks like you are making some headway!
Took me a while of poking around, but the one I found has been great. It had ignition issues, the switchboxes were original, replaced them....and the carbs needed rebuilt.....and i put on a CDI voltage regulator (they don't have them from the factory). Once I did that it has been bulletproof...
