    Default Proud of your stereo?

Just bought a 2004 lxi 210 5Lgx. Looking to make some upgrades to the stereo. Anyone have some good setups? I was just thinking of getting some JL coaxials with amp as phase 1. Phase 2 would be the sub. Has anyone had luck with non-tower speaker setups. Also what about mounting speakers or subs in the bench seat?

What is this I'm hearing about it being super difficult to remove the speakers in the Lxi?

Above for the direct replacements. Still researching the amps. I'm a big fan of JL but want to hear of other successes!

    Hi Erikste!

Did you find a solution to upgrade the sound? I have the same problem with a Larson 180 and I am desperately looking for a proper sound setup.

    Cheers
    Ben

I just did a complete upgrade on my 1998 Cabrio 310. One of the 4 speakers in the outer area is in fact mounted in the bench. The old system was a Clarion with Clarion speakers.

I changed out all of the 4 outside speakers to the JL M650 (not the MX) and the sub to the M105 (again not the MX). I upgraded the Clarion amp to the JL MHD 900/5 and the head unit I went with the Fusion 600 series with wired remote.

NO REGRETS. The new system sounds outstanding and very clean in comparison. LOTS of low end from the sub. With the right music and at a decent volume it feels like you are sitting in an envelope of sound. Very happy with this upgrade - can't wait to get on the water in a couple months.
