I Have ordered the service manual for my "new" 1972 Johnson 100hp (100ESL72R). Not arrived yet. I have timed it at idle to 4 deg BTDC. I would like to set the WOT timing. Could someone please tell me the WOT timing SPEC (deg BTDC) for this engine?![]()

Thanks for the links countvlad.I know how to do the timing. I was hoping someone would have the manual already and be able to give me the factory spec for the 3500+rpm timing so I could put it into the water this week.

Thanks for the effort. When the manual arrives I will post the specs for others.
OK, got the factory manual today. Timing at idle is 5 degrees BTDC. WOT timing is 28 degrees BTDC @ 4500rpm in gear. There it is for posterity.![]()
OK use these instructions, and shoot for 24 * BTC, they work and 99% of the time low speed takes care of itself. no need for the motor to be running.
