Wiring Diagram - Cut off switch

On the wiring diagram one of the black/yellow (engine cut off/grounding/shut down) wires runs to what is labeled as the "Cut off switch"

Which switch is this?

Ignition switch in the "off" position. The "M" terminal.

That wire also goes to the emergency cut off switch and probably to a mercury switch on the motor to keep you from starting it when the motor is tilted up.

The raised M terminal should have no continuity with the other M terminal (ground) when switched on and have continuity when in off position and therefor ground the raised M (old convention Magneto) terminal that your kill wire (blk/yel) connects to.
