where to get fuel pump for 1965 johnson 40hp

Just wondering where to get a cheap fuel pump for my 40hp johnson. I recently took it apart to clean and it seems to be not working right. Does anybody know how these are supposed to work because it can go back many different ways.

I installed a in line fuel filter after the pump in the line going to the carb. Could this be causing a problem? If i have the plugs in the engine and plug wires off then crank it over shouldnt gas come out of the exit hole in the pump?

Got it all figured out. Took it apart and found out i had one piece on the wrong way. Put it back together and works great now!
