what year is this old johnson super sea horse and what should I do before I start it

the model # is v4sl 12s serial # 21444458 taken off the metal tag attached to the motor, it also states it's a 75hp. I have a 1964 grady white 19' pacific and would like to put an original engine on it if this is one.When I bought this boat in 2000, this engine was on an old thompson that I had to junk as part of the deal.I bought it from a lady who's husband had died and she knew nothing about it.In 2000 I did quickly turn it over by directly touching the leads to a battery (about 2 seconds) it did turn over and it looked like it had been running because there was gas in the clear float bowls and there is no dry rot on any of the hoses or the belt from engine to distributor(?). Also what should I do before I try to start it. The engine's alway's been stored indoors since I got it. Thanks for any help I can get.

ask if paper manual or cd copy. if paper could be an old shop selling out. i have bought a lot on craigslist, and ebay.

The add says they are the real paper manuals.It looks like a dealer that is selling out old stock.For the price shipped thats a great deal.
I would send them an email and ask.

Thats a good catch....i read it too fast.Yes those are the parts manuals..
Still worth the 12 bucks.
The BRP website does not go back that far so at least he could find part numbers.
