water pump, johnson 110
i have an 89 johnson 110, i just replaced the water pump, i noticed that it leaks water at the seam above the lower foot, it did leak a little stream before but now it leaks a few streams, the book called for no gasket or any sealer, i did scrape all the corrosion off which is why its leaking (i think) ??????????????

Not an uncommon situation, you could drop the lower unit and put some silicone on it if you want, I wouldn't worry about it if it were me.

Take a close look at the seam. On my '98 Johnny, there are cast in slots to allow water to drain. It is intended for water to exit at the seam.
