recently bought a 73'50hp evinrude that had been sitting for six years. Put fresh gas to it and it fired right up. I have been told that these models do not have a pee hole.So where is the water discharging from? also I have been told that I should replace the water pump. I am wondering should I do this. I dont have much outboard experience. but I am fairly mechanically inclined. Any advice would be greaty appreciated
lippy the water pump isnot hard to do . just dont break a bolt off . i amnot a mechanick but ihave don it . i even rebuilt one of those . changed one frome eletric to manuel shift worked great . i have a 72 original shop manul . if you need some info would be glad to help . ican scan and send it to you. the 72 is the same as 73 . is yours an eletric or manuel papasage
