I recently just got the motor running in a barrel of water. when it first started running water was spewing out of the above water hole just fine. Now it barely drops out. I have ran the motor for extended periods of time and it does not seem to get hot. I can even keep my fingers on the block. There seems to be nothing blocking the water inlets so I question if i need a new water impeller. Any info would be appreciated.

First thing - blow out the telltale with compressed air. They're easily clogged. Second thing - if you don't know when the impeller was last replaced, or if you do know and it was more than three years ago, replace it, REGARDLESS of whether it pumps well now.- Scott

yes just replace the water pump.i do it every 3 years
