Throttle control remobval 1994 -95 115hp Johnson engine controls
Can one any tell me how to get the throttle control apart.. My controls have a centre button you press in to allow a fast idle/warm up with the gears disengaged. So no fast idle lever.I have removed the mounting screws, the 3 long screws in behind the cover of the shift handle. I can not see any other screws/ bolts. It looks like the the handle has to be seperated from the main control mechanism. While the shift handle is still attached there is no way I can remove the control unit to lube the cable and shifting unit as they are stiff and appear to be dry. Haven't been serviced all lubed for a while id say, poor maintenance by previous owners. Any illustrations advice appreciated. Poor preparation = Poor performance.
Part number found on inside of plastic side of shift handle 126020
Thanks

My control is a couple of years newer, however, may be the same. Look on the very bottom of the throttle handle (6 o'clock point when in neural) for an allen screw. When loosened, the handle will slide off the shaft.

Pull the neutral button out and then advance the throttle for wot position. Makes screw eaisier to get at. Then loosen the screw and put throttle handle back to neutral before pulling handle off. Reverse the procedure for installation.
