I have a 1990 Johnson 4hp model number J4RDHESR. Unfortunatelly, I do not have the owners manual for it and I am having a hard time restarting the engine after it has run a while and then sat for about 15 minutes. The only controls on the face of the motor are a choke and idle adjust.
Could someone please let me know the correct procedure to follow for doing a warm start? Do I need to choke again. Do I need to squeeze the fuel bulb again? Thanks ...
I would squeeze the priming ball again but I would be surprised if I was able to pump any fuel through (unless the motor had been tilted then I might). In fact being able to would indicate a problem perhaps
After 15 minutes I agree it should start without choke, but I might turn the idle mixture knob a little towards the rich end of its scale if it has been longer than 15 mins
