Default Spark Plug Recommendation 1979 Evinrude 140

My book says UL77V. But I have also read about others that may give better performance?

My manual from 1979 says UL77V are best for full throttle and use alternate L77J4 for sustained idling.

Any experience out there that I should consider?

Also, I see OMC manufactured plugs (for twice the price o Champions). I would hate to spend the extra unless it is needed. THX

I would use the L77J4 plug. The UL77J4 is a perma-gap plug and fouls out real easy if you are idling or trolling. I ran the L77J4 in my 140 of that vintage and never had an issue with them.
