    Default Replace Water Pump 95 70 HP Johnson

    How difficult would it be for an "average" person to change out the water pump on this 70 hp Johnson or would you all recomend ttaking to a OB Mechanic? I Thank you in advance.

    Stratosfied, get a manual and get in bed with your motor, and get to know her better. If you can change a water pump on a car, you could probably do the motor pump/impeller. You have to drop the lower foot/unit off the motor, and the water pump is on the driveshaft. To me the hardest part is lining up the driveshaft and water tube when your putting the lower foot back on....anyway, give it a shot......Goodluck...BushCat
