removing oil pump from 1985 Evinrude 110

hey everyone, i have a quick question on a my 1985 110HP Evinrude. i want to remove the oil pump that is has, and start doing premix. i've had other 2 strokes and they already came ready for premix. i just want to get that worry out of my head. i was told all i have to do is cut the hose that is coming from the oil pump, cap is, and remove the pump from under my center console. is it really that easy? or did Evinrude put sensors that i'm no aware of? thanks guys, really appreciate the help!

I cut, and plugged the oil line close to the connection at the motor, and removed the oil tank. You also have to disconnect the low oil warning wire. I then made sure the permix gas is at the carbs, before starting it, by pumping the bulb until I seen a darker color in the fuel, then you should be good to go.

Don't you have to unplug the wire to the VRO pump, too?

Its been a fews years, and you most likely are right. Mine worked fine, just I didnt want to fry a motor if it went out.
